
Robert J. 'Bob' Hauser became interim dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) on August 17, 2009, pending approval by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Hauser brings to his new position almost 12 years of experience as head or interim head of the college's Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics.
Hauser, who holds the rank of professor, received a B.S. in 1976 in agricultural business and a Ph.D. in 1982 in agricultural economics, both from Iowa State University. He has also recently served the College of ACES as interim director of International Affairs/ACES Global Connect. Hauser has authored over 30 refereed publications, supervised 22 graduate students, developed and led exceptional extension programs, and taught several undergraduate and graduate courses. He has also received numerous research and extension awards.
