
Robert J. 'Bob' Hauser, who has been serving as the interim dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) since August 2009, officially became dean of the college on September 27, 2010.
In August 2009, Hauser was appointed the Clearing Corporation Foundation Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics. He served as the head of the department from January 1995 through August 2001, and then again from August 2004 to 2009.
Hauser joined the University of Illinois in 1982 with a research and teaching focus on grain transportation, the use and pricing of options and futures, and the effects of economic and policy changes on Illinois and U.S. agriculture.
Hauser received his B.S. in 1976 in agricultural business and a Ph.D. in 1982 in agricultural economics, both from Iowa State University. He has developed and led exceptional Extension programs, has taught several undergraduate and graduate courses, and has received numerous research and extension awards.
