Friends of ACES

Dear Friends - One of the most exciting parts of my new role as Interim Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences has been the pleasure of getting to meet and know more friends of the College. For example, in August, Agronomy Day on campus afforded a major opportunity for meeting many of our constituents and alumni from across the state, as did the 4-H Foundation’s celebration at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.

The start of classes brings yet another opportunity to interact with some very special College friends: students, faculty, and staff. These groups are indeed the lifeblood of our institution, and I look forward to my ongoing interactions with them.

Finally, the Farm Progress Show in Decatur is quickly approaching. I hope you’ll mark your calendar for September 1, 2, and 3 and plan to attend. We are expecting more than 5000 people to visit the College of ACES tent each day, and I very much look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones at this great event.

As Interim Dean of the College, one of my goals is to strengthen the treasured friendships that the College of ACES has enjoyed over the years, and foster new relationships in the days ahead. I look forward to working with friends of the College of ACES - both long-time and new - as we work together to further the great work going on at this institution.
