Dr. John A. (Sean) Fox became Department Head for Agricultural and Consumer Economics (ACE) in January 2017.  Prior to joining ACE he served for over twenty two years as a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University.  He earned his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1994. 

Fox’s research involves surveys, market experiments, and retail trials to assess consumer values for improved food safety, new food attributes, technologies, and information. He has authored or co-authored more than forty articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been principal or co-principal investigator on research funding of over one million dollars. His teaching, at both undergraduate and graduate level, included courses on Agricultural Policy, International Trade, Commodity Futures Marketing, Managerial Economics, and Applied Econometrics. 

A native of Ireland, he earned a B.S. in Agricultural Science from University College Dublin in 1989.  His roots are on a family farm in County Sligo in the west of Ireland.
