Ceremony

December ACES Convocation

Friday, December 17, 2021 5:00 P.M.
Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Foellinger Great Hall

You must register by November 12 to be included in the December 17 ceremony. 

If you are in the ceremony, please arrive on level 2 of the KCPA no later than 4:30 to line up. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00. There will be opportunities for photos without a mask outside on the west and south platforms of the center. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the building. 

Tickets will be limited to 4 per graduate. The event is subject to change as the semester progresses. 

In accordance with campus-wide protocols, all university students, faculty, staff and visitors must wear a face covering in university spaces indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Photos of graduates without face coverings may be taken outside.

Regalia

Academic rental attire is ordered online on the Herff Jones website. Regalia will be shipped to the address you provide if domestic.

Rental fees must be paid in full when placing your online order with Herff Jones. Regalia may be returned via the prepaid shipping label or to the Herff Jones table at KCPA immediately following the ceremonies. Students and faculty who are participating in multiple ceremonies should keep their regalia to wear it in all ceremonies they are participating in throughout Commencement season. More information on Regalia can be found on the University Commencement website or on the attached pdf.

Petitions - Deadline to submit a petition is Friday, November 12, 2021

Bachelor's:

If you are not officially graduating this semester, but would like to participate in the upcoming ceremony, or you are graduating this semester but would like to participate in the May 2022 ceremony, please complete the petition. You must include reasoning for why an exception should be made for your situation.

Master's: 

If you are not officially graduating this semester, but would like to participate in the upcoming ceremony, or you are graduating this semester but would like to participate in the May 2022 ceremony, please complete the petition. Recipients of master degrees must have deposited their dissertations in the Graduate College Thesis Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 in order to participate in unit Convocation ceremonies.

Doctoral:

If you are not officially graduating this semester, but would like to participate in the upcoming ceremony, or you are graduating this semester but would like to participate in the May 2022 ceremony, please complete the petition. Recipients of doctoral degrees must have deposited their dissertations in the Graduate College Thesis Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 in order to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and unit Convocation ceremonies.

Previous degree candidates

If you earned your degree in May 2020, August 2020, December 2020, or May 2021, you will be invited back to participate in an on campus version of the College of ACES Convocation Ceremony. We are inviting the previously mentioned terms Master and Doctorate graduates to our December 17, 2021 ceremony and previous Bachelor earners to our May 2022 ceremony. Please check your email for an invitation or fill out the form here to indicate that you would like to participate in your respective ceremony. You must register by November 12 to indicate that you'd like to participate in the December Convocation.
