Bevier Meal to Feature "Fresh from the Farm" Products

URBANA - A five-course "Fresh from the Farm" dinner featuring locally grown products will be prepared by University of Illinois hospitality management students under the direction of locally renowned chef Jean-Louis Ledent on Friday, August 4.

Guests will be seated at 6 and 6:30 p.m. in the Spice Box, located on the second floor of Bevier Hall, 905 South Goodwin, on the U of I campus.

"The menu will highlight the area's best products," Ledent said. "Featured foods will depend on the availability of fresh items at the time of the meal, and a vegetarian option will be available.

"The cost of the meal is $45.00. Service will include a wine list, but wine is not included in the price of the meal. To make a reservation, please call (217) 333-6520.

"Proceeds from this special event will benefit the renovations of the Quantity Foods Facilities, including the Bevier Café, Spice Box, and kitchen. The first stage of renovations is under way this summer in the Bevier Café. However, numerous improvements and updates requiring more funds are still needed," said Jill North, hospitality management instructor.
