"In Food Science and Human Nutrition 443, students and guest chefs create a themed dining experience. The course lets students apply their skills to a real-world setting with an emphasis on artistry in preparation, and serving and merchandising high-quality food in quantity," said Jill North Craft, Spice Box manager and the class's instructor.
The theme for the January 26 meal, prepared by guest chef Cindy Steinman of Dinner's Ready Personal Chef Service in Evanston, is "Aventura Latina" (A Latin Adventure).
Additional meals, in a wide array of themes, will follow on Friday nights throughout the semester.
"The change of season brings out new and exciting themed meals, such as the upcoming New Orleans and Caribbean themes," Craft said.

Each dining event offers a four-course meal, including salad, appetizer, featured entrée, and dessert, or a special salad and entrée combination. A specialty alcoholic beverage is also offered. Price varies according to menu, and the meals are available by reservation only. Reservations are available at 5:30, 6, 7, and 7:30 p.m.
