Hannah Sundararajan, a junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, was awarded a $30,000 Truman Scholarship. Sundararajan is one of 54 Truman Scholars selected from a pool of 743 nominees from colleges and universities across the country.

Sundararajan, from New Berlin, Wisconsin, and a graduate of New Berlin High School, was selected by the Truman Foundation based on her academic success and leadership accomplishments, as well as her likelihood of becoming a public service leader. 

Darin Joos, a proud alum of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, knows a thing or two about the university’s beloved South Farms. Joos now manages the research facility, where he and his colleagues bring agricultural education to life in innovative ways.

The National Association of Agricultural Educators has granted its 2024 Outstanding Postsecondary Agriculture Program Award to the agricultural education concentration, part of the Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications program in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Urbana-Champaign.

Wendy Dorman is determined to map a brighter future for grassland birds. The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign doctoral student will use a $150,000 investment from NASA to develop robust maps of grassland habitat across the Midwest and beyond.

Two researchers in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have been named to the 2024 Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers list. The list recognizes research scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated exceptional influence – reflected through their publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers during the last decade. 

A new Learning Accelerator program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has been selected for funding through the American Talent Initiative IDEAS Fund, in support of the university’s first campuswide, dual-credit program for prospective students leading to first-time entry into four-year degree programs. The program will serve students at lower-income Illinois public high schools.
