The College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is launching a comprehensive brand platform project to define and amplify the college’s identity, building upon the university’s broader branding efforts led by Chancellor Robert J. Jones.

"The goal of this project is to craft a cohesive, compelling brand and messaging strategy that reflects the full scope of ACES’ work, impact, and mission," said ACES Assistant Dean of Marketing Communications Jennifer Larson. "By unifying its voice and aligning its messaging, ACES aims to increase awareness, foster deeper connections, and enhance its reputation across diverse audiences, including alumni, donors, industry partners, and future students."

This initiative will allow ACES to communicate its story more effectively, emphasizing the unique contributions of its departments and programs while highlighting the college’s overarching commitment to innovation, discovery, and community impact.

"Whether through the images representing the college or the messaging shared in various efforts, the new brand will evoke pride and a sense of belonging among all who interact with ACES," Larson said. "As the college’s visibility and influence continue to grow, this platform will serve as a foundation for sharing its story more broadly, increasing its recognition across academic, agricultural, and consumer sectors."

This brand platform project will ensure that ACES’ mission, achievements, and vision are communicated effectively and powerfully. The ACES community is encouraged to support the project by:

  • Becoming a brand ambassador: Help communicate the purpose and goals of the brand project to build excitement and engagement across our community, reinforcing the message that this is a collective, value-added effort.
  • Being an active participant: If requested, engage in the data collection process by contributing to surveys, interviews, and other research activities that will shape our brand.

"By defining a consistent voice that resonates across all interactions, the college is poised to solidify its standing as a leader in education, research, and community engagement," Larson said. "This initiative represents an exciting opportunity for all those connected to ACES — alumni, donors, students, faculty, and partners — to see their collective contributions reflected in a brand that captures the essence of the college's work and impact."
