From Jonathan: Some of my amazing experiences include being a national finalist in the proficiency area of Food & Technology in 2018; being a national finalist at the national Agriscience fair in 2018; being the state STAR in Agriscience in Illinois; along with being the state winner of the Food Science & Technology Proficiency area, and the national and state conventions.

FFA definitely opened me up to more opportunities in agriculture and leadership. Therefore, I was inspired to be a student in the College of ACES. After going on field trips to different facilities, competing in CDE's, conducting research, and working on my SAE, I knew Food Science was the field for me. I can apply all of my learning and leadership skills on campus throughout academics and extra-curricular activities.

Advice for current members: Take advantage of as many opportunities as possible and don't turn down any opportunities. Also, don't be afraid to try anything new. The FFA organization is an amazing way to explore each of the agricultural fields and find your true self.
