That usually happens if you open a scholarship application before a program application. Don’t worry! It is easily fixed. Please email the ACES Study Abroad Office for assistance.
Yes, you can still apply! In place of a passport scan, you can upload a Word document stating “I understand it is my sole responsibility to obtain a passport right away in order to participate in the study abroad program.” Please then be sure to apply for one right away! You will need it long before you actually depart.
Yes! You can put N/A if you do not have alternate program selections, but you must submit that questionnaire in order to complete your application.
No, all applications are reviewed equally after the stated deadline. There is no priority consideration if you submit your application before the deadline.
Applications are reviewed holistically, but the essays are an extremely important component! You are encouraged to make them as personal to you and specific to the program as possible. Please be sure to answer the question(s) fully, have them proof-read, and to show that you have done your research on study abroad and your program of choice.
You can only apply to one program per term (ex: one program for the spring 2027 semester). As part of the application process, you can list two alternate programs that you will be considered for if for any reason you are not offered a spot on the program you applied for.
If you are accepted to a program, you will be given a certain amount of time to officially commit to the program. It is only after you commit to a program that you are accountable for any withdrawal fees or irrecoverable costs.
Please review the Policies and Program Withdrawal information. If you would like to discuss this further, please email the ACES Study Abroad Office.
For ACES students, this is determined on a case-by-case basis in consultation with ACES Academic Programs, your major Academic Advisor, the study abroad program team, and the college that administers the program. If you are not in good academic standing, please reach out to the ACES Study Abroad Office for more information.
