Maggie Wave named ACES Assistant Dean for Advancement

Maggie Wave is the new Assistant Dean for Advancement in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Maggie brings an impressive background in higher education fundraising and leadership. She most recently served as Chief Development Officer at Northwestern University, where she led fundraising efforts for the Medill School of Journalism, consistently surpassing an $8M annual goal. Maggie's ability to cultivate major and principal gifts, manage high-performing teams, and develop strategic initiatives aligns perfectly with our goals for ACES.
A two-time Illinois alum, Maggie holds a Master of Business Administration from the Gies College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She also brings extensive experience in advancement from her roles at the University of Missouri-Columbia and Washington University in St. Louis, where she secured over $15 million in gifts and led major regional fundraising efforts. She also established endowed gifts supporting library preservation and research during her time as assistant director of development for the University Library here at U. of I.
Beyond her professional achievements, Maggie’s early work with Teach for America demonstrates her commitment to leadership and educational equity. She shows a deep passion for creating opportunities that advance our mission and strengthen relationships with our alumni and donors.

Wave's first day in the position is April 9.
